Following the ASRA AGM at Conference 2023 we were delighted to welcome new Regional Representatives for Ireland, South East & Wales Regions.

Ellen Fitzmaurice (Ireland), Victoria Stanbury (South East) & Mary Keeler-Kenyon (Wales) are now in post and very much looking forward to representing the members, views & opinions within their respective regions.

What does ASRA mean to you?

It is a really important network of like-minded student accommodation professionals who support each other.

What is your best ASRA memory?

A memory that stands out is the first Ireland Regional Meeting that I attended many years ago where the original connections were made, many of whom I am still in touch with now.

What does ASRA mean to you?

ASRA is an amazing platform where individual professionals can come together to share ideas, best practice and support each other to deliver the best service we can to students. It’s always good to know that you are never alone, the email’s that are shared between us all, the Regional meetings and the ASRA conference bring us together and have certainly helped me to build on my own knowledge.

What is your best ASRA memory?

My first ASRA conference in Warwick, I felt nervous as I was working in a completely new sector, but I soon realised I had nothing to worry about, I met so many lovely people who made me feel welcome. I made some great connections who I continue to work with today and enhanced my knowledge and passion for student accommodation. It made me feel motivated and positive about the sector that I work in.

What does ASRA mean to you?

ASRA is a fantastic network to meet like minded professionals and it gives us a space to share ideas, best practice, and support through the good and the bad. ASRA offers great training and learning opportunities through conference and gives us an opportunity to network either via email, at the regional meetings and conference, this makes a massive difference and gives you the sense that you are not alone.

What is your best ASRA memory?

My favourite ASRA memory has to be the most recent conference in Belfast. It was my second ASRA conference and everything about it was great. I loved being apart of the stress busters’ group, where we made panels for a quilted blanket that was auctioned off at our ASRA gala dinner – I may have been sitting on the same table as the winning bid (we may have influenced him to increase his bid!!). It was great to be part of such a fantastic opportunity to support a local charity to Belfast and leave our ASRA footprint.
