Full membership

Full membership is open to all institutions of Higher and Further Education in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The named representative of each institution must be a person whose key function is student housing whether institutionally owned or managed, or in the private sector.

Where partnerships exist between an institution and a Private Sector Partner, the institution is eligible for Full membership, with the institution's contract manager (or similar) becoming the named representative and the Private Sector Partner’s staff can become Associate members.

Associate Membership

Associate membership category 1

You are a UK or Irish Housing Association or a private UK or Irish company with lease agreements with an HE or FE Institution

Associate membership category 2

You are a UK or Irish Housing Association or a private UK or Irish company with no formal lease agreement with an HE or FE Institution

Associate membership category 3

You are a commercial organisation providing student accommodation.

Applications for Associate Membership must be submitted to the ASRA Administrator and must be proposed and seconded by two named representatives of full members of the Association and confirmed by the Management committee. Annual fees for organisations are payable for all Associate memberships on a per region basis. (Annual membership as an individual £90.00.)

Joining ASRA as a New Member

  1. Download the membership application form
  2. Complete the form and submit it by email to asra@sovereignconference.co.uk
  3. Membership application approved by committee.
  4. Invoices are generated receipt of a completed form.
  5. Annual renewal subscriptions will be automatically generated once you become a member.

The membership application form will ask for the following information:

  • Name of Organisation
  • Name of person completing the form 
  • Name and details of members from your organisation
  • Details on which of the named members will act as the main contact
  • The main contact will also be the person who is eligible to vote on behalf of your organisation at the AGM
  • Category of organisation you work for
  • Category of membership

Once your membership has been approved, you will also be given access to the ASRA mailbase.
